Recently, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov, held a meeting with the Secretary General of the OSCE, Feridun Sinirlioğlu.

According to the press service of the head of state, the prospects for cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the OSCE were discussed, as well as the possibilities for increasing the Organization's project activity in the republic to implement joint tasks.

The President noted that interaction with the OSCE has become active in recent years and expressed satisfaction with the regular visits of delegations from Kyrgyzstan and the OSCE.
Sadyr Japarov highlighted the productive work of the OSCE Program Office in Bishkek, noting that the Organization is currently implementing 22 projects. The OSCE Academy in the capital was named one of the most successful projects in its entire history.

He also thanked the OSCE for its support in various areas, including the reform of the judicial and law enforcement systems, digitalization, improving management efficiency, as well as protecting human rights and democratic freedoms.

The President emphasized that strengthening cooperation with Central Asian countries is an important direction of Kyrgyzstan's foreign policy. He noted that the visit of the Secretary General coincides with the anniversary of the signing of historic agreements on state borders between Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.

In this context, Sadyr Japarov also noted the OSCE's support in ensuring peace and trust in the border areas of the region.

Feridun Sinirlioğlu, for his part, expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and emphasized that in recent years, under the leadership of Sadyr Japarov, Kyrgyzstan has achieved significant successes in socio-economic development.

He noted Kyrgyzstan's progress in the field of democracy and the significant representation of women in parliament and politics.

Furthermore, the Secretary General drew attention to Kyrgyzstan's foreign policy, which is based on good-neighborly relations and adherence to international law. In this regard, he emphasized President Japarov's contribution to ensuring regional security and cooperation in Central Asia.

During the meeting, Sadyr Japarov expressed concern about the current complex geopolitical situation, including the conflict in the Middle East, which leads to suffering among civilians and the destruction of important infrastructure, including in neighboring countries.

At the end of the meeting, the parties noted the importance of peacefully resolving all disputed issues, as reported by the press service of the president.
