According to information provided by the regional Internal Affairs Department, during recent raids, police officers were able to detect and retrieve 44 units of old synthetic fishing nets from the water bodies. In total, the length of the confiscated fishing gear amounted to 4,400 meters. All confiscated nets were destroyed in accordance with established regulations.
These measures are being taken as part of a comprehensive program aimed at:
- improving the ecological condition of the biosphere area;
- preserving unique biological resources and endemic fish species;
- curbing illegal fishing activities (poaching).
