China is ready to continue operations for children with heart defects from Kyrgyzstan
According to information from the press center, the meeting addressed both the current situation and the prospects for Kyrgyz-Chinese interaction in the healthcare sector.
Cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and China is based on an agreement between the health ministries of both countries and is actively developing within the framework of the intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation and in the format of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
Damir Osmonov noted that the Chinese side makes a significant contribution to the development of healthcare in Kyrgyzstan, including humanitarian aid, the supply of medical equipment and medicines, as well as the organization of educational programs and internships for Kyrgyz doctors in China.
During the discussions, the Chinese side proposed a number of new initiatives to expand practical cooperation. In particular, the agenda included issues related to the implementation of the "Express Health - Bright Journey" project, which involves conducting free cataract surgeries, as well as continuing medical assistance programs for children with congenital heart defects.
It is also worth noting that it was previously reported that every year, operations will be conducted in China for 10 children from Kyrgyzstan suffering from severe heart defects.

Additionally, the prospects for cooperation with the People's Hospital of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region were discussed, including the organization of mutual visits and the possibility of creating joint medical institutions.
Particular attention was paid to the issues of establishing a Kyrgyz-Chinese research center for traditional medicine, as well as developing partnerships in the field of pharmaceuticals and the use of medicinal plants.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to further strengthen bilateral cooperation aimed at developing medical infrastructure, improving the quality of medical care, and expanding access for the population to modern medical services.
