

The Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic reported on the ongoing reconstruction work of the IV phase of the Suusamyr–Talas–Taraz road. Currently, activities are being carried out to level and widen the roadway, dismantle concrete supports of power lines, relocate drainage pipes, and construct bridges.
More than 229 workers and over 147 units of special equipment are involved in the project. Additionally, two asphalt concrete plants, one concrete plant, and two crushing plants are operating as part of the project.
The length of the reconstructed section is 93 km, starting from the city of Talas and ending at the "Kichi-Kapka" border crossing point. The completion of construction work is expected between 2025 and 2028, and the warranty period for the project is set at 5 years.
“The project includes the renovation of 6 bridges, the construction of one underground passage, as well as the creation of sidewalks and a lighting system in populated areas. The technical category of the road will be upgraded from category III to category II,” the statement noted.
