The infrastructure modernization at the 'Torugart' checkpoint has been successfully completed, including the implementation of an electronic queue system for trucks. This information was provided by the State Customs Infrastructure JSC.
According to the agency, this innovation has become a significant step in organizing the movement of freight transport on one of the most important international transport corridors. Previously, serious traffic jams occurred, sometimes reaching up to 25 km, which not only overloaded the road infrastructure but also negatively impacted the ecology around Lake Chatyr-Kul.

The electronic queue system involves the pre-registration of trucks and the creation of a transparent queue. Vehicles are gathered in a specially designated waiting area called "Kara-Bulak," from where they are gradually directed to the checkpoint according to a set electronic schedule.

This approach allows for:
- - avoiding the accumulation of vehicles at the checkpoint;
- - reducing the load on access roads;
- - ensuring an even distribution of truck traffic;
- - increasing the transparency and predictability of the border crossing process.

It is also reported that the project is being implemented as part of a comprehensive modernization of the country's border infrastructure.

In addition, a large-scale reconstruction is underway at the 'Torugart' checkpoint: administrative buildings are being updated, the area is being expanded, and a new inspection complex is being built. A modern waiting area has already been opened for participants in foreign economic activity. These changes are aimed at speeding up border crossing, improving conditions for carriers, and strengthening Kyrgyzstan's transit potential.
