The Deputy Attorney General Zalkarbek Aknazarov reported at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh on March 12 that in 2025, 85 officials were held accountable for violating the law on conflicts of interest.

During the discussion of amendments to this law, the deputies, in particular, were interested in the number of individuals held accountable.

“More than 70 inspections were conducted, resulting in 172 violations being identified. One official was fined for non-compliance with regulatory acts, while 84 others faced disciplinary sanctions. Most often, these are employees of state institutions or local self-government who failed to submit declarations of their interests or used municipal property for personal purposes,” Aknazarov explained.
