An important event aimed at protecting mountain ecosystems and developing ecotourism will take place in the Chon-Kemin Valley.
A significant ecological festival titled "Snow Leopard EcoFest - Kemin 2026" is planned in the Kemin district. This information was announced by Almaz Musaev, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision.
He noted that this initiative is intended to preserve the natural heritage of the country and promote sustainable development concepts.
The festival will aim to unite the efforts of representatives from government structures, businesses, and civil society to protect the snow leopard — the symbol of Kyrgyzstan's highlands.
The event's program will focus on fostering ecological culture and supporting local initiatives in the field of "green" tourism.
The organizers emphasized that the choice of the Chon-Kemin Valley for the festival is not accidental: this location will highlight the vulnerability of mountain ecosystems and the need for their protection.
