At the meeting of the permanent commission of the Bishkek City Council held on March 11, Bishkek's Vice Mayor Azamat Kadyrov urged deputies to abandon the use of personal vehicles in favor of public transport. This proposal was part of a broader discussion regarding the issue of charging for parking on the north side of the city hall building.

Deputy Kazybek Ergeshov expressed his dissatisfaction with a number of decisions made by the city hall, pointing out possible violations. In particular, he noted that the mayor's order dated August 22, 2024, No. 194, which restricts access to parking in front of the city hall on Tuesdays and Thursdays, may have been made beyond the authority. "The mayor's orders concern operational and personnel issues and cannot restrict the use of municipal land," he added.

Furthermore, Ergeshov pointed out that the introduction of parking fees at the city hall contradicts the resolution of the Bishkek City Council No. 151 dated February 19, 2020, which prohibits the establishment of paid parking in areas adjacent to state and municipal institutions.

In response to these remarks, the vice mayor emphasized that transitioning to public transport would help reduce the burden on parking spaces in the city center.
