In Kyrgyzstan, a $50 million project to improve air quality is being implemented

Installation of 11 monitoring stations and acquisition of mobile laboratories is planned
The project aimed at improving air quality has been launched in Kyrgyzstan, with a budget of 50 million dollars. The implementation of this project is supported by the World Bank. This was reported by Asel Raimkulova, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision, at a meeting of the committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, which deals with issues of agricultural policy, water resources, subsoil use, ecology, and environmental protection.
Raimkulova noted that the necessary equipment for Kyrgyzhydromet has already been purchased as part of the project.
A tender is currently underway to develop project and estimate documentation needed for the creation of a modern laboratory and information center for air pollution analysis. The process of concluding a contract for this work is already in progress.
To ensure operational control over air quality, a contract has been signed for the acquisition of two mobile laboratories.
The technical documentation for the installation of 11 automatic monitoring stations, which will be located in cities such as Bishkek, Osh, Kara-Balta, Tokmok, and Cholpon-Ata, is also ready. At the moment, the documents are being coordinated with the World Bank.
