Travel to Umrah temporarily restricted in Kyrgyzstan

Tourist companies are recommended to suspend the organization of Umrah trips until the situation normalizes


An extended meeting dedicated to the safety of citizens and the organization of Umrah took place at the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan. The press service of the muftiate reported this event.

Participants in the meeting included the Secretary of the Security Council, representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Agency for Religious Affairs and Interethnic Relations, the State Agency for Civil Aviation, as well as airlines and travel agencies.

Supreme Mufti Abduaziz Kary Zakirov, in his speech, emphasized the current global situation and the potential risks for the citizens of Kyrgyzstan. He called on his colleagues for mutual support and effective cooperation.

During the discussion, representatives of government agencies shared information about the measures being taken. It was emphasized that in conditions of instability, the safety of citizens must remain a priority. The importance of the participation of airlines and travel companies in this process was also noted.

Issues concerning the safety of Kyrgyz citizens traveling to Saudi Arabia, as well as the return of those already there for Umrah, were discussed.

As a result of the meeting, a decision was made to temporarily restrict trips for Umrah until the situation improves.

Tourist and airline companies are recommended to suspend the organization of such trips until the situation normalizes.

Additionally, work has begun to restore delayed flights using convenient routes involving airlines such as Jazeera Airways, Flynas, Air Arabia, and other carriers.
