The General Prosecutor's Office of the Kyrgyz Republic, in the department of court bailiffs, commented on the information that is actively spreading on social media and in the media. It claims that a Kyrgyz citizen with the initials M. K. K. was unable to leave the country due to a fine of 1,000 soms.

Indeed, on January 26, 2026, M. K. K. attempted to fly to Turkey with his family; however, border guards did not allow him to leave the country.

“Previously, a fine of 1,000 soms was imposed on this citizen, which he has already paid, and the ban was lifted. However, a temporary travel restriction was imposed on his wife O. Zh. by the decision of the Sverdlovsk District Court. This is related to her debt obligations to the tax authorities amounting to 1,320,398 soms. Thus, the reason for the travel ban is not the fine, but the existing judicial restriction related to the tax debts of the wife,” the agency reported.

The court bailiff service strongly recommends that citizens check for any outstanding debts before planning trips abroad on the website suddep.sot.kg. They also remind that travel restrictions can be caused not only by fines but also by other reasons, and such restrictions may not always be lifted by court bailiffs.
