According to their information, from March 5 to March 10, worsening weather conditions are expected in the mountainous areas of the country, which may lead to an increased risk of avalanche formation and the formation of ice on the roads.
“A particularly high risk of avalanches has been recorded on the 294-304 kilometers of the Bishkek — Naryn — Torugart highway, in the area of the Kara-Unkur gorge. An avalanche has already occurred. Road services responded quickly and conducted clearance, restoring traffic in both directions,” the statement says.
Drivers are strongly urged to refrain from long trips if possible. It is essential to strictly adhere to traffic rules and speed limits on the road. Additionally, it is recommended to prepare anti-skid chains for vehicles and maintain a distance of at least 500 meters between vehicles.
