The Child Protection Center (CPC) was founded in 1998 and is dedicated to protecting the rights of children who find themselves in difficult life situations. The CPC includes a shelter for children affected by violence, as well as two day centers located near the "Dordoy" and Osh markets. The day centers are intended for children in challenging situations.
Many children attending the day centers live in low-income families. They are often deprived of parental attention and sometimes have to work to help their families. Social workers at the CPC assist children in enrolling in schools, provide them with hot meals, and organize activities. For many children, a meal at the day center is the only hot lunch they have in a day.
The shelter annually accommodates 50-60 children, providing them with psychological rehabilitation and the opportunity to continue their education. All financial resources for the operation of the shelter and the two day centers come from donor and sponsorship support. However, given the rising food prices and changing economic situation, the costs of providing children with necessary nutrition are increasing.
