According to data from the World Health Organization, since 1990, the obesity rate among adults has more than doubled, while among adolescents, this figure has increased fourfold.
The emergence of excess body weight and obesity is associated with a disruption in the balance between the amount of food consumed and the energy expended through physical activity.
Many factors influence the development of obesity, including lifestyle, environment, psychological aspects, and genetic predisposition.
This problem increases the risks of developing cardiovascular diseases, type II diabetes, hypertension, joint problems, and certain types of cancer.
Children suffering from excess weight not only face the risk of serious diseases in the future but also experience shortness of breath, may sustain injuries more frequently, and encounter psychological difficulties.
Obesity prevention should begin at an early age.
