The "Green Cities" project, covering Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, has officially been launched in the Fergana Valley. This was reported by the German Embassy located in Bishkek.

In Kyrgyzstan, the implementation of the project will focus on the cities of Osh and Manas.

The goal of the initiative is to improve the quality of life in urban areas and reduce environmental risks.
Experts and the project team will provide support in developing master plans for greening, as well as modernizing urban infrastructure. Additionally, training for specialists and experience exchange between countries aimed at the ecological development of cities is planned.

The project is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany (BMZ) with the assistance of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ). In Kyrgyzstan, the main partner is the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision.
