Kyrgyzstan joined the Asian Chess Development Program FACI-2026

Kyrgyzstan has officially become part of the international program Freedom Asian Chess Initiatives (FACI), planned for 2026. This project, supported by both the International Chess Federation (FIDE) and the Asian Chess Federation, focuses on systematically improving the chess infrastructure in the region.

According to information from the Kyrgyz Chess Union, this year Japan, Turkmenistan, Pakistan, Nepal, Jordan, and Cambodia have also joined the program. Participation in FACI will provide the Kyrgyz federation with assistance in training coaches and referees, as well as in organizing training camps and developing chess in schools.

In 2025, the FACI program already demonstrated its effectiveness by providing grants to young athletes for participation in international tournaments, including the World Cadet Championship. Kyrgyzstan's entry into FACI opens new horizons for international cooperation and contributes to the development of youth sports in the country.
