Deputy Calls on Prosecutor's Office to Check the Legality of Dog Shooting in Bishkek
She emphasized that people want to know how legal the actions of "Tazalyk," which is carrying out the shooting of dogs, are. "Why are such huge amounts being allocated from the budget - from 4 to 7 million soms - specifically for shooting? This money could be directed towards sterilization, capture, and the construction of shelters for animals," the deputy addressed her colleagues in the city council, highlighting the barbaric nature of this approach.
Kozhokulova also urged the Bishkek prosecutor's office not to remain indifferent and to conduct an investigation into the legality of the actions of municipal services. "Is it really impossible to find a more humane solution? This is cruel treatment of animals, for which criminal liability is provided under Article 163 of the Criminal Code," she added.
The deputy requested the General Prosecutor's Office to consider this issue within its authority.
