In Kyrgyzstan, as part of the celebration of World Wildlife Day, the 12th award ceremony took place, honoring rangers and activists who made significant contributions to the fight against poaching. The Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision reported on this event.

This event was organized by the Snow Leopard Foundation in Kyrgyzstan with the support of the Ministry of Natural Resources.

Since the launch of the initiative, 171 individuals have received awards for their efforts against illegal hunting of snow leopards and wild ungulates. This year, in 2026, honorary diplomas and prizes were awarded to 35 rangers and citizens who displayed courage in uncovering 40 instances of violations.

Rangers working in remote mountainous areas patrol vast territories and actively combat poaching and the illegal arms trade. Their efforts are crucial for the conservation of rare species, such as the snow leopard, which is a symbol of the highlands of Kyrgyzstan.

The Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision, A. Toktobaev, emphasized that the protection of biodiversity and support for those on the front lines of nature conservation are priority tasks of the state ecological policy.
