The new project aims to address the shortage of parking spaces for cars in the capital
In Bishkek, the city administration has presented for public discussion a draft presidential decree regarding the implementation of a pilot project to create parking spaces near private residential houses.
According to the developers of the initiative, this step is aimed at solving a serious problem related to the shortage of parking spaces in the city. This leads to cars being left in disarray on lawns, sidewalks, and roadways.
The pilot project will be in effect from March 1, 2026, to February 1, 2027. Homeowners will be able to arrange parking lots on their land plots.
If the project proves successful, city authorities will consider the possibility of introducing this norm on a permanent basis.
