
Russian representatives at the meeting urged the USA and Israel to immediately cease their military actions and choose the path of political and diplomatic resolution of the conflict.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres, speaking at the emergency meeting, condemned the attacks by the USA and Israel on Iran, noting that Tehran's retaliatory actions "violate the sovereignty and territorial integrity" of neighboring countries such as Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.
Guterres also reminded that the UN Charter prohibits the use of force against the territorial integrity and political independence of states, emphasizing the seriousness of the situation in the Middle East, which poses a threat to international security.
The attack on Iran by Israel and the USA began on February 28 with intense aerial and missile strikes on urban and military targets. In response, Tehran attacked Israeli and American military bases in several Middle Eastern countries. In the first hours of the conflict, several high-ranking Iranian military personnel and officials were killed. American President Donald Trump confirmed the start of a military operation called "Lion's Roar."
Trump also stated that Ali Khamenei has been killed.
