In Bishkek, they want to tighten the rules for traffic violators on electric scooters.

As spring approaches, an active period begins in Bishkek for the use of individual mobility devices such as electric scooters, bicycles, and scooters, as well as services for their short-term rental. In this regard, a meeting was held under the leadership of Ilyas Kolopov, head of the mayor's office, with representatives of companies providing electric scooter rental services in the city.

During the meeting, the need to bring the operators' work in line with existing legal norms and traffic rules was discussed, as well as the implementation of regulations for the use of electric scooters in the urban environment.

Representatives of kick-sharing companies were advised to improve user control, including the introduction of sanctions for those who violate traffic rules while using electric scooters. The mayor's office believes that such citizens should be temporarily or completely restricted from renting individual mobility devices.
