With the start of the electric scooter season in Bishkek, city authorities plan to introduce measures to block users who violate traffic rules. This statement was made by the press service of the City Hall following a meeting with kick-sharing operators, where the need for stricter control and the introduction of real sanctions for violators was discussed.
The meeting was held under the leadership of Ilyas Kolopov, head of the City Hall's office, and gathered representatives of companies providing short-term electric scooter rental services in the city. The main focus was on aligning the operators' activities with current legislation and traffic rules, as well as ensuring order in the use of electric scooters.
Kick-sharing companies have been recommended to strengthen control over users, including applying measures of accountability to those who violate traffic rules.
The necessity of implementing effective accountability mechanisms was also noted, which may include temporary or complete restrictions on access to rental services through mobile applications for violators.
The Bishkek City Hall reminds both residents and guests of the capital about the importance of adhering to safety rules when using personal mobility devices, urging everyone to take a responsible stance on road safety issues. This will help create a culture of mutual respect and maintain law and order in the urban environment.
