At the end of last week, the Minister of Agriculture Bakyt Torobaev, summarizing the results of the "AgroDialogue-2026" forum, announced a plan for the construction of modern refrigerated warehouses for storing vegetables and fruits. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture.
The minister noted that the implementation of this project will help solve the problem of crop losses that farmers face due to the lack of modern storage facilities after harvest. The creation of such facilities will allow for the preservation of high product quality and expand opportunities for processing and export.
“The ministry will provide full support to farmers, agribusinessmen, and processors in the implementation of the project for the construction of refrigerated warehouses. The construction of facilities that meet international standards is a key step towards increasing the efficiency of the agro-industrial complex, developing the processing of agricultural products, and strengthening food security,” emphasized Bakyt Torobaev.
This initiative aims at comprehensive support for agricultural producers and agribusiness, as well as the development of infrastructure for storage and processing of products, which will create new jobs and enhance Kyrgyzstan's competitiveness on the international stage.
It is known that the ministry plans to implement the program within the framework of public-private partnerships with the involvement of investors. The program will include full support for projects—from design and construction to operation and certification in accordance with storage requirements. In addition, the agency will provide consultations on effective management of agricultural product inventories and logistics processes. This project will significantly increase farmers' incomes and minimize losses.
