The minister reported on the progress of the agreement between the three countries
At a meeting of the committee dealing with industrial policy, transport, and energy issues, Energy Minister Taalaybek Ibraev announced that the feasibility study for the Kambar-Ata HPP project has already been completed.
In addition, he noted that the work on the section concerning environmental protection has also been completed.
“Currently, we are actively working on the agreement between the three countries. Uzbekistan has already submitted its proposals and comments. After Kazakhstan shares its feedback, we will hold a meeting of the working group representing all three states. The World Bank has set the task of completing the preparation of the intergovernmental agreement by April,” he added.
The minister also mentioned a recent meeting with donors in Brussels, where negotiations took place with 11 international organizations. They expressed their readiness to provide Kyrgyzstan with funding amounting to $2.6 billion.
This funding can only be allocated after the agreement between Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan is concluded.
