According to information from the prosecutor's office, an interagency meeting was held on February 23, 2026, during which issues related to countering cyber fraud occurring in the information and telecommunications network, as well as other crimes in the banking sector, were discussed.
The meeting was attended by the prosecutor of the Manas district, Syrgabek Akylbek uulu, the head of the district's internal affairs department, J. Toktorbaev, and his deputies A. Sharshenbaev, B. Alymkulov, U. Zholdoshov, as well as the deputy head of the state administration — akim of the Manas district, A. Batyrbekova, and representatives of banks.
During the meeting, various forms of fraud characteristic of the internet were discussed. In particular, attention was paid to cases of deceiving citizens through phone calls and messengers, hacking social media accounts, compromising electronic wallets, and schemes offering high profits with low risks.
The participants of the meeting emphasized the need to strengthen the fight against cybercrime against the backdrop of rapid digitalization. The important role of coordination between government agencies and the private sector was also discussed.
As a result of the meeting, representatives of government agencies and banks expressed their readiness for an active fight against cyber fraud and other high-tech crimes in the region. The importance of increasing digital literacy and raising public awareness of potential threats on the internet was also highlighted.
The prosecutor's office of the Manas district urges citizens to exercise caution:
- be careful when communicating with unfamiliar people on the internet;
- do not share personal information, passwords, and bank card details with third parties;
- avoid clicking on suspicious links;
- warn your loved ones about potential risks of cybercrime.
The prosecutor's office of the Manas district noted that upon discovering the first signs of fraud, one should immediately contact law enforcement agencies to prevent possible damage.
