Today, February 23, 2026, the capital authorities began the demolition of the structure located near the 'Aichurok' Central Department Store. This was reported by the Bishkek city administration.
Mayor Aibek Junushaliev stated that the company was given a deadline to independently remove the structure, but no actions were taken on their part.
“If the company does not dismantle and remove the structures within a day, they will be sent to the impound lot of the Land Use Control Department,” the mayor noted.
He also instructed the Bishkek Main Department of Urban Planning and Architecture to prepare a new design for the fountain structure. The task is to modernize the object and present a sketch for its restoration as soon as possible.
The demolition work is being carried out by employees of the municipal enterprise "Tazalyk" in conjunction with the Land Use Control Department. City service leaders have been instructed to ensure the safety of workers during these operations.
It is worth noting that on February 19, 2026, Mayor Aibek Junushaliev, along with members of the urban planning council, inspected the construction work on Chuy Avenue and indicated that if the company did not start the demolition within three days, city services would be involved in the work.
