
Minister Kanbek Dosmambetov held talks with Alexandra Solovyova, representing the United Nations Development Programme in Kyrgyzstan. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Health.
During the meeting, key aspects of cooperation were discussed, taking into account the priorities in the field of healthcare in the republic until 2030. The main focus was on strengthening the institutional structure, developing human resources, implementing digital technologies in medical services, and enhancing the resilience of the country's healthcare system.
One of the main issues was the improvement of procurement mechanisms for medical drugs and products through the UN. Plans for centralized procurement aimed at ensuring access to quality medications at reasonable prices, as well as increasing the transparency and efficiency of procurement processes, were discussed. Meeting participants noted positive results in the implementation of previously reached agreements and the compilation of lists of necessary medicines and medical products.
Kanbek Dosmambetov thanked UNDP for its support in implementing tuberculosis control programs and healthcare reforms, emphasizing the importance of applying international procurement mechanisms for the rational use of budget funds.
Issues related to the transitional phase of implementing the Global Fund grant aimed at combating AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria were also discussed. In the next grant cycle, the Ministry of Health is expected to be considered as the main recipient of funds. Efforts are being made for a smooth transition of functions and strengthening national program management.
Attention was focused on preparing an application for the new grant cycle and ensuring the sustainability of programs, which includes access for vulnerable population groups to diagnostics and treatment.
As a result of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness for further development of the partnership aimed at creating a modern and effective healthcare system in Kyrgyzstan.
