Ergeshov expressed the opinion that the actions of the city hall are unjustified and create additional difficulties for small and medium-sized businesses. He noted that it is entrepreneurs who play a key role in forming the city budget, creating jobs, and reducing unemployment and poverty levels.
“The city hall should support small and medium-sized businesses, not try to increase budget revenues at their expense by raising land rent,” the deputy emphasized.
Syuzbek Sarybaev, deputy director of the municipal enterprise "City Road and Transport Infrastructure," explained that their organization manages seven municipal markets, and operations with them are carried out based on contracts.
According to him, the current tariffs were set by previous owners and do not cover the financial costs of maintenance. Therefore, it was decided to increase the fee by 23 soms per square meter.
“These funds go to the city budget. Renting a container costs entrepreneurs about 3,000 soms. Considering inflation and rising service costs, it is necessary to ensure profitability,” he added.
However, the deputy disagreed with such arguments, pointing to the additional costs entrepreneurs incur for security and maintenance, which ultimately amount to up to 10,000 soms per container.
“You should support entrepreneurs, not limit their opportunities. Don't forget that you depend on them,” the deputy urged.
