The mayor ordered to temporarily suspend the construction of one of the buildings in Old Bishkek.
In connection with the implementation of the Old Bishkek project, the mayor reported that the municipality had sent a request to the Ministry of Construction, Architecture, and Housing and Communal Services of the Kyrgyz Republic to verify the project's compliance with the stated standards and requirements.
He noted: "We have visited this site multiple times and held explanatory meetings, strongly urging adherence to the approved documentation and urban planning norms. However, the work continued despite our appeals."
As a result, Junushaliev ordered the suspension of work on the construction of the second-floor roof. The head of the main department for urban planning and architecture was instructed to review the submitted sketch and propose adjustments to comply with urban planning norms.
It is worth reminding that in December 2025, Kamchybek Tashiev inspected the construction progress in the TSUM area at the request of President Sadyr Japarov.
After familiarizing himself with the situation on-site, the chairman of the State Committee for National Security instructed the demolition of structures and barriers that narrow the roadway, as well as the dismantling of the third floor of the building, since, according to the materials provided by the mayor's office and the Ministry of Construction, the project only implied a two-story building.
