The national championship in sambo has started in Bishkek, covering both sports and combat disciplines. The event is taking place at the Kaba Uulu Kozhomkul Sports Palace and has gathered 320 participants from all corners of the country.
Present at the opening of the championship was Buzurman Bagyshbekov, Deputy Director of the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports, as well as several representatives from federations and coaches.
On the first day of the competition, athletes are competing in the weight categories of 58, 71, 88, and 98 kg.
The championship will last until February 19, and based on its results, the national team will be formed for the upcoming international tournaments.
