On February 19, employees of the Leilek Border Detachment prevented an attempt to illegally export small livestock across the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, as reported by the press service of the State Border Service (SBS).

According to the agency's information, the operation was organized in cooperation with employees of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) based on received operational data. As a result, an attempt to export livestock outside official crossing points was stopped.

During patrol, a Volkswagen Crafter cargo truck was spotted heading towards the border. The driver ignored lawful demands to stop and attempted to flee from the border guards.

During the pursuit, another vehicle, a SsangYong Rexton Sports, interacted with the truck, creating obstacles for the service vehicle and trying to assist the truck in reaching the border area.

Thanks to the coordinated actions of the military personnel, both vehicles were blocked and detained in the settlement of Dostuk.

Upon inspection of the Volkswagen Crafter, 36 heads of sheep were found being transported without the necessary shipping and veterinary documents. The estimated value of the detained livestock is about 1 million soms.

Three citizens of Kyrgyzstan from the Batken region have been detained in connection with the illegal transportation case: G.S.K. (born in 1984), T.R.U. (born in 1983), and N.K.K. (born in 1984).

The collected materials regarding the attempted smuggling have been forwarded to the relevant law enforcement agencies.
