Nuraly Talaibekov, a sixth grader from the children's art school in the At-Bashinsky district of Naryn region, is passionately engaged in playing the komuz, which he considers a symbol of the Kyrgyz people.

From an early age, Nuraly showed interest in this musical instrument and dreams of sharing the richness of national culture with the surrounding world.

“I started playing the komuz seven years ago. During this time, I have participated in numerous competitions, won several prizes, and gained valuable experience. Last year, I successfully completed my studies and received a diploma. I am currently continuing my education. Thanks to the komuz, I hope to visit Turkey soon, where the komuz is highly valued. The Turks know that we, the Kyrgyz, are its guardians and treat us with respect,” shared the young musician.
Nuraly has already made a name for himself in various competitions, with one of his significant achievements being a prize-winning place in the chopo chooru category. He is currently participating in the international competition "Dostuk Shany," showcasing his skills.

“For us, the komuz is not just a musical instrument. When the word ‘Kyrgyz’ is mentioned, the first association is with Manas Ata, and then the komuz. It has become a symbol of our people. Only those who have tried to play it understand its deep meaning and spiritual power,” he noted.

Playing the komuz is an important part of his family's life: Nuraly's father and many relatives also play this instrument, which has intensified his interest in music.

“In my childhood, I recited pieces from the epic ‘Manas,’ participated in wrestling competitions and arithmetic contests. Additionally, I learned to play the kyl kiyak and piano, and now I am mastering the guitar. At the moment, I know over 40 melodies. The main thing on stage is to stay calm; otherwise, you can get lost,” he added.

Family support plays a significant role in Nuraly's successes. He also expressed gratitude to his mentor Nazgul Jologonova for her effort and trust.

Currently, Nuraly is in the 8th grade at the Karybek Uulu Akmataaly Secondary School and plans to continue promoting the komuz, introducing the world to Kyrgyz culture.
