To address the problem of insufficient irrigation water in the Ak-Suu district of the Issyk-Kul region, new irrigation methods such as drip and sprinkler irrigation are being implemented. This initiative was discussed by Nurzat Kaliev, head of the district water management department.

According to available data, there are 400 hectares of irrigated land in the district. This year, it is planned to convert 20 hectares to drip irrigation and 250 hectares to sprinkler irrigation. In addition, work is underway to improve the infrastructure for supplying irrigation water.

To date, 5 out of the planned 25 kilometers of channels have been cleaned using mechanized methods, as well as 8 kilometers of internal irrigation systems. After the snow cover melts, repair work is planned on one reservoir and three pumping stations,” Kaliev added.
