A seminar on artificial insemination of cattle was held in the Kochkor district.
This event was organized by the district veterinary management, as well as the departments for livestock development, pastures, and feed.
Participants of the seminar included the district akim, heads of ayil okmotu, veterinarians, and farmers.
During the meeting, slides were presented demonstrating the results of previous work.
According to information, in recent years there has been an increase in livestock numbers, which leads to a shortage of pastures. This highlights the need to focus on quality rather than quantity, which implies breeding of pedigree livestock. Artificial insemination is one of the methods for increasing the breeding stock.
This method involves introducing the semen of a pedigree bull into the reproductive organs of a female to obtain offspring.
Starting in 2025, projects in this direction will be actively implemented. Last year, 233 heads of cattle were inseminated as part of various initiatives. In 2023, the district administration approved a plan to inseminate 1,421 cows, and so far, 36 heads have already been inseminated.
Primarily, semen from pedigree bulls of the Swiss, Angus, and Simmental breeds is used. The semen is provided free of charge, and only the service itself is paid for,” the report states.
