Reports that the Orozо fast begins on February 18 have been deemed false. This information was provided by Kaktus.media representatives of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan.

Starting the evening of February 17, rumors spread on the internet and in messaging apps about the fast beginning a day earlier than announced by the Fatwa Council of the Muftiyats of the Organization of Turkic States.

As clarified by the press service of the SAMK, based on observations and astronomical calculations, the first day of the month of Ramadan 1447 in the Hijri calendar is set for February 19, while February 18 is the thirtieth day of the month of Sha'ban.

Furthermore, the Muftiyat noted that a number of countries, such as Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Turkey, Indonesia, Brunei, Oman, Singapore, and Malaysia, have also declared February 19 as the first day of the fast. Similar announcements were made by Japan, Australia, and South Korea.
