
A citizen of Kyrgyzstan, B.B., was detained at the "Boone County Jail" in Kentucky, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the republic.
Employees of the General Consulate of the Kyrgyz Republic in Chicago have already met with the detainee and provided him with legal assistance regarding the protection of his rights and legitimate interests.
Earlier, representatives of the Ministry met with B.B.'s relatives and a representative of his company in Kyrgyzstan to discuss further actions and legal support.
Currently, investigative activities are ongoing in Kentucky by local law enforcement agencies.
The General Consulate maintains regular contact with the prison administration, as well as with the regional office of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the detainee's relatives. The situation is being monitored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic and the country's foreign institutions in the USA.
