The State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic (GKNB) has dispelled rumors of an alleged confrontation among law enforcement agencies arising from checks of former employees. The special service emphasized that some information reports distort reality, creating a false impression of conflict between various agencies. According to the GKNB, these claims are aimed at undermining trust in government institutions.
The statement noted that at the direction of the President of Kyrgyzstan, the Military Prosecutor's Office, together with the Main Investigative Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, conducted a series of investigative activities concerning certain former GKNB employees. These individuals are suspected of exceeding their official powers while holding their positions.
The GKNB assures that all actions were carried out in strict accordance with legislation and procedural norms. The Committee's leadership was informed in advance about the ongoing activities. As a result of the checks, serious personnel decisions were made: employees who committed violations were dismissed and excluded from the national security agencies. The collected materials have been forwarded for further legal assessment.
The agency emphasizes that state bodies continue to adhere to the course of strengthening legality and combating corruption. The GKNB highlights that every employee, regardless of their position, bears personal responsibility before the law.
Furthermore, it is noted that all law enforcement and security structures operate within the framework of the law and in coordination with each other, striving to maintain national security and public order in the country. The statement also emphasizes: "Attempts to create an artificial conflict between agencies are destructive in nature and may destabilize the socio-political situation."
The GKNB calls on citizens, journalists, and public figures to rely on official sources of information and to remain calm. The agency assured that it will continue its work to protect the interests of the state and society, ensuring legality and security. It is also emphasized that there can be no untouchables within the system of state bodies, and efforts will continue to cleanse the ranks of dishonest workers.
