Former deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh Iskhak Masaliev proposed the need to review high-profile criminal cases that have occurred in recent years. He announced this on his social media.

He emphasized that the leadership of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) has undergone a complete change, and some employees have been held accountable and taken into custody.

Masaliev also reminded about the recent statement by Edil Baisalov, the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, who noted that there is a rise in offenses and increased dissatisfaction among citizens in the country.

Moreover, the former deputy pointed out that changes in the functions and status of the SCNS are currently being discussed, with the possibility of leaving the agency with only its core powers. He believes this could be a positive step.

Iskhak Masaliev expressed the opinion that the president should decide which body will be responsible for combating corruption: a newly created specialized body or the prosecutor's office and police.

He also suggested conducting a re-analysis of high-profile criminal cases from the last five years. According to him, the head of state could establish an interagency commission to thoroughly examine such materials.

“The results may be unexpected, but this step is extremely important for both the people and the president,” Iskhak Masaliev concluded.
