Ishak Masaliev, who previously held the position of deputy in the Jogorku Kenesh, has proposed a review of high-profile criminal cases that have occurred in recent years. This proposal was made against the backdrop of recent personnel changes in the State Committee for National Security (GKNB), which he announced on his social media.

According to him, the leadership of the GKNB has undergone a complete overhaul, with some employees being detained. He also noted that there is an increase in offenses and expressed dissatisfaction among citizens.

Masaliev emphasized the need to reconsider the functions and status of the GKNB, suggesting that only specialized powers should remain with the agency. He believes that the issue of creating a separate body to combat corruption or transferring these functions to the prosecutor's office and police should be addressed at the presidential level.

In this regard, he proposed forming an interdepartmental commission to review high-profile cases from the past five years.

“The results may be unexpected, but this step is extremely necessary for both society and the president,” Masaliev emphasized.
