The Kurshab rural district of the Uzgen region has begun updating its general development plan for the next 30 years. This was reported to Turmush by the deputy head of the village council, Kutman Eraliev.

As part of the first stage of document development, public hearings were held. Local residents were introduced to the project, expressed their comments, and made initial suggestions. The general plan is the main document that defines the future of infrastructure: from the construction and modernization of social facilities to the rational use of land resources. Residents have another month to submit additional proposals—every villager's opinion is important for the final project.

According to Kutman Eraliev, the current plan was approved back in 1982 and covered an area of only 352 hectares. The new document is being developed with a long-term perspective and covers 1869 hectares.

Today, about 25,000 people live in the rural district:

- 20,000 in the village of Kurshab;

- more than 5,000 in the villages of Erdik and Shagym.

In preparing the general plan, specialists take into account the natural demographic growth of the population.

A total of 13,054,200 soms has been allocated from the republican budget for the development of the document. Topographical work was fully completed last year, and the final approval of the general plan is scheduled for the second quarter of this year.
