In the Chui region, in the Moscow district, a memorial rally was held dedicated to the 37th anniversary of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan. This event commemorated the heroes of Afghanistan, as reported by the deputy akim of the district administration, Nazgul Mekeshova.

The event took place at the monument to internationalist soldiers in the village of Belovodskoye, where annual honors are held for veterans of the Afghan war and a tribute is paid to the fallen. During the rally, wreaths were laid at the monument, and those present remembered the feats of the soldiers. In memory of those who did not return from the war, a prayer was read, and a small concert took place.

"February 15 is not just a date, but a special day that reminds us of courage and resilience, of the heavy historical trials. It is not only a tribute to memory but also an exaltation of the heroism of soldiers and reverence for those whose lives were taken by war," noted Nazgul Mekeshova.

The event was attended by the first deputy akim Ulan Sadaliev, Afghan war veterans, representatives of the district military commissariat, various social organizations, and local residents.

A total of 115 fighters were drafted from the Moscow district to the Afghan war, three of whom died.
