The construction of a second plant for processing solid household waste will begin in Bishkek. This was announced by the mayor of the capital, Aibek Junushaliev, at the final meeting of the city hall board.

According to Aibek Junushaliev, the first plant of its kind in Central Asia, which opened on December 27, 2025, has already shown significant results, processing 80,000 tons of waste in just a few months. It is worth noting that its capacity is from 1,000 to 1,200 tons per day, and it also produces up to 30 MWh of electricity.

The mayor emphasized that the launch of the second plant in 2026 will help increase the total processing capacity to 3,000 tons per day.

At the same time, work is also underway to develop a sorting and processing complex with a capacity of 100 tons per day.

The production capacities of the new plant will be directed towards creating products for the needs of municipal enterprises, such as benches, trash bins, manholes, and paving slabs.
