In 2026, new seedlings are planned to be planted in the capital of Kyrgyzstan in place of old trees that have been damaged by pests and irrigation issues. As part of this project, the construction of modern irrigation systems will also be organized to ensure the full growth of plants.
The Mayor of Bishkek, Aibek Junushaliev, announced this at a meeting of the board, where it was decided to create walking areas along the Big Chui Canal and the Ala-Archa River.
As part of the project implementation, 48 hectares will be allocated for a new nursery, as well as the construction of five modern greenhouses with a total area of 9,600 square meters and the purchase of 50 thousand seedlings. To support the green infrastructure, 21 km of irrigation pipelines will be laid and more than 5 km of irrigation networks will be installed.
In addition, work is planned to continue on cleaning the riverbeds of the Alamudun and Ala-Archa rivers, including the removal of garbage and the preparation of recreational areas for citizens and investors interested in implementing environmental and recreational projects.
It is worth noting that on February 12, a final meeting of the Bishkek city hall board was held at the Tunguch theater under the leadership of the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and the head of the President's Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic, Adylbek Kasymaliev, where the results of the socio-economic development of the city for 2025 were summarized and tasks for 2026 were defined.
