An avalanche has occurred on the Bishkek–Osh highway: Cleanup work is underway
Today, February 12, at 11:50, a snow avalanche occurred at the 246th kilometer of the Bishkek—Osh road, leading to traffic restrictions.
According to information provided by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Jalal-Abad region, the incident took place in the Chychkan Gorge of the Toktogul district. No injuries have been reported as a result of the incident.
A grader from road service No. 23 is currently working at the scene to clear the road.
To ensure the safety of drivers and passengers, a warming station has been set up at the 271st kilometer of the Bishkek—Osh highway. The Ministry of Emergency Situations is providing hot tea and warm blankets to all those seeking assistance, according to the official statement.
Earlier, Kyrgyzhydromet warned of possible avalanches on mountain roads from February 11 to 13.
