At the meeting of the Executive Committee of the Kyrgyz Football Union held on February 10, 2026, a decision was made to lift the five-year ban on participation in football for Mirbek Akhmataliyev. This became possible after a review of the circumstances of the case.
Recall that the incident that led to the player's sanctions occurred in August 2024. During a training session of the "Muras United" team in Bishkek, a fight took place, during which Akhmataliyev seriously injured the jaw of another player. Following this, the club immediately terminated his contract, and the federation made a harsh decision to suspend him from football activities for five years.
Now, after a year and a half, football authorities have decided to give the striker a second chance. From this moment on, Akhmataliyev can sign a new contract with any team and participate in official competitions organized by the KFU.
