As a result of its actions, not all collected funds reach the budget
At a recent meeting of the BGK commission, deputy Kazybek Ergeshov reported the existence of a "parking mafia" that affects the revenues of Bishkek's budget. According to him, not all the money collected from parking reaches the city's budget.
According to information from the city hall, there are 45 parking lots in Bishkek, of which 23 are municipal, as well as more than three thousand parking spaces located near markets. The cost of one parking spot is 25 soms.
Nevertheless, Ergeshov noted that markets charge a fee of 50 soms for parking.
“I proposed the candidacy of a person who was ready to cooperate with the municipal authorities. He wanted to lease the parking lots. However, I was informed that contracts have already been signed until the end of the year. There is a mafia in your system. There are corrupt schemes in place. It is necessary to uncover all this corruption. For this, a special commission needs to be created and an audit conducted,” the deputy added.
