According to him, it was expected that the annual revenue from parking would be 200 million soms, however, the actual collections in 2025 were only 82 million, as reported in the news.
Ergeshov noted: “Parking operates without proper control, and the funds are going into the pockets of private individuals, bypassing the city budget. Currently, all parking lots are leased without a competitive selection process, and contracts are signed directly. There are corruption schemes and a system that requires inspection. We should be receiving more than 200 million soms from parking, as the rates have increased — the current cost of a space is 25 soms, while some charge up to 50 soms. Let’s legalize these fees so that the money goes into the city budget. This is a reasonable price, especially for large markets.”
Deputy Director of the Municipal Enterprise “City Road Transport Infrastructure” Talaybek Aseinov added that in the first half of the year, a thousand QR codes are planned to be installed, with the same number to be installed in the second half of the year. This will increase the coverage of parking spaces to 80% and significantly boost collections.
Additionally, video recording of customers who do not pay for parking is being conducted.
