Legacy of the Bronze Age: Unique Petroglyphs Found in the Shilbili Gorge
Eco-activist Gamal Sooronkulov reported this to a Turmush correspondent.
This region features a large gorge and the Shilbili valley, where stones with carved images, presumably dating back to the Bronze Age, are located.
"The petroglyphs depict snow leopards, ibexes, and deer. We believe that there are two different types of petroglyphs in this area, possibly belonging to different periods. This distinction is noticeable in the design: in one depiction, the ibex is shown with spiral-shaped horns — this may have a deep philosophical subtext, while the other type is executed differently," he added.
