Recent discoveries in the Besh-Köl area, located in the Baik-Ata district, have confirmed the existence of ancient petroglyphs created during the Bronze Age. This was reported by ecologist Gamal Sooronkulov in an interview for Turmush.

Gamal Sooronkulov noted that the artifacts were found in the area of the Üyür-Maral River, in the very heart of the Besh-Köl site.

“The images depict scenes of hunting 'trophy' goats with dogs, as well as 'walking' camels and deer. These are evidence of the lives of people who lived here many centuries ago. The petroglyphs likely date back to the Bronze Age, starting from 2000 BC. The area is also famous for its five lakes, which is what gave it the name Besh-Köl,” he added.
