Traffic jam of trucks at the border. Kazakhstan commented on the situation
There are queues of trucks at the Kazakh-Kyrgyz border, which is related to the planned control measures being conducted by Kazakhstan. This was reported by the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), citing data from the competent authorities of Kazakhstan.
“These measures are temporary and targeted, aimed at organizing the situation at the border and curbing the illegal turnover of goods that threatens national security,” the statement said.

Kazakhstan emphasizes the importance of good-neighborly relations with Kyrgyzstan, which is a strategic partner and ally. The authorities of Kazakhstan hope for understanding from Kyrgyzstan and further cooperation to combat illegal activities that negatively affect the economies of both countries and their international image.

The top leadership of Kazakhstan has always shown respect for Kyrgyzstan and its people, which is a fundamental principle of the country's strategy, remaining unchanged under various circumstances.

“The cessation of illegal transportation serves the interests of both countries,” the statement emphasizes.

The EEC, in turn, noted that such measures fall within the competence of each member state of the Eurasian Economic Union and do not affect the integration processes within the union.

It was previously reported that at the checkpoint on the border with Kazakhstan, the movement of trucks has been almost completely halted, and drivers report being unable to cross the border for three days.

The Eurasian Economic Commission also commented on the situation, stating that the delays are related to planned border activities aimed at combating the illegal turnover of goods.

The Kazakh side once again emphasized that these measures are temporary and do not affect the regime of Eurasian integration.
